It's a challenge for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

This is the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus six more T20 titles, and earlier maintained nearly four years undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

It needed until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, honestly, a testament to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batsmen to possess a record if not afforded the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her bow and seven global championships have resulted from 10 attempts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the run of success.

That loss "motivated us to reevaluate our levels," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the final and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

If this latest epic knock surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Different voices suggest with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings was preceded by six games in India over the past few weeks in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's competitiveness has always been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, fallen to the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off the opening delivery and from there Healy was underway.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three big hits.

When she was out Australia needed 66 more at one run per ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, if we do, we are confident we can achieve it."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this tournament need to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this triumph succeeding victory over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at one point.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated through the pain.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her concluding event as leader in 50-over cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as skipper.

Success in India would bring her to the top of her final mountain.
